Panicked residents from several areas of Heraklion called the Fire Service call center reporting a strong smell of smoke and ash.
According to information from Patris.gr, the call center received dozens of calls, with Fire Service officers reassuring citizens that the smell was coming from the large wildfire that broke out on Tuesday and continues to burn on the island of Paros.
The intense concern of Heraklion residents was also reflected on social media.
