Crete’s “Official” Nudist Beach

Seventy-five kilometers southeast of Chania and just 3 kilometers from the picturesque town of Chora Sfakion, on Crete’s southern coast, lies Filaki Beach—the island’s only officially designated nudist beach.

The shoreline is made up of pebbles and occasional rocky patches, and it is sheltered from the wind. Despite being easy to reach—either by car or a short walk from Chora Sfakion—it remains generally secluded, making it a peaceful escape.

A decade ago, Filaki Beach was featured in a Huffington Post special as one of the eight best nudist beaches in Europe.

Like some of the neighboring coves in the Ammoudi area, Filaki is almost exclusively visited by nudists, effectively making these spots the only official naturist beaches on the island.
