What began as a scenic hike turned into an ordeal for an Austrian tourist trekking the E4 trail between Agios Pavlos and Marmara in southwestern Crete. According to reports from zarpanews.gr, the woman was injured along the route. Firefighters from Anopoli, along with a mountain rescue team, quickly arrived at the scene and located the 30-year-old.
She was carried to the beach and then taken by boat to Sfakia, where an EKAB ambulance was waiting to provide further medical care.
Fortunately, according to the same sources, her condition does not appear to be life-threatening.
